Phuc Van Pham received his Ph.D. in Human Physiology from Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam. He is currently a Professor of Biology at Vietnam National University and Acting Director of the Laboratory of Stem Cell Research and Application. He is a longstanding lecturer and translational scientist at the University, and is a member of several societies and journal editorial boards focused on stem cells. Dr. Pham and his colleagues have established one of the first multidisciplinary stem cell centers in Viet Nam, and he has successfully launched an array of technologies in stem cell isolations. His research interests include stem cell isolation, stem cell therapy, mesenchymal stem cells, cancer stem cells, immunotherapy and regenerative medicine and he has published extensively in these areas. Dr Sharmila Fagoonee is a Researcher at the Institute of Biostructure and Bioimaging of the Italian National Research Council (CNR) in Turin, Italy. After her B.Sc. (hons) degree in Biology at the University of Mauritius and M.Sc. degree in Cellular Biology at Université Victor Segalen, Bordeaux, France, she got her Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular Biology at the University of Turin, Italy. As a CNR researcher, she has investigated the differentiative capacity of murine pluripotent spermatogonial stem cells into functional hepatocytes both in vitro and in vivo. She is currently studying new therapies and biomarkers for chronic liver diseases as well as the role of the RNA binding proteins in hepatic and intestinal pathogenesis. She has also been coordinator and lecturer of the Master’s course in Stem Cells, Regenerative Medicine and Cell Factory Management at the University of Turin, and is active as Editorial Board member as well as Reviewer of several scientific journals.
