Star and Moon presents the daily life of the Hui people and expresses a kind of emptiness that transcends time and meaning. Yang Yankang expands the scope of experimental exploration of the language of modern Chinese photography, and creates a revelatory way of perceiving the art of practical photography. His works on the three major religions have historically placed them in a prominent position in the history of modern Chinese art, and he has become one of the leading photographic artists in China and even in the world.

AUTHOR: Born in 1954, in Anshun, Guizhou Province, Yang Yankang now lives in Shenzhen and Chengdu. He is a freelance photographer, contracted with Agence VU in France. From the 1990s, YangYankang gave up other work to commit himself to photography, and became an independent photographer.
