In her photo and video project Mountain Pieces. Reflecting History Sissa Micheli (
*1975) deals with the theme of war and peace and confronts spectators, with the wartime past of the South Tyrolean mountains. The settings for her artistic exploration are selected war zones in the massifs of Alta Pusteria. The focus is on interventions to commemorate the fallen of the First World War on the Alpine front and peace performances. Sometimes the artist herself takes on the role of protagonist in her photo and videoworks. The videos were created in collaboration with the artist Thomas Riess. Text in English, German and Italian.
