Steve Breen grew up in Orange County, California, as the oldest of seven siblings, and he now has a bunch of kids of his own. So Steve knows siblings! He is fascinated by kids and the things they do, the stuff they say, and the clubs they create. He enjoys working in his home studio in San Diego County, even when the house gets noisy and his art supplies mysteriously go missing. Steve has won two Pulitzer Prizes (1998, 2009) for his editorial cartoon work and several broadcasting Emmys for his video work. He now draws for inewsource.org. He has also written and illustrated several children's books, including Stick and Violet the Pilot and Woodpecker Wants a Waffle.
Breen balances the wordplay gags and visual humor with genuine moments, creating a book that young readers will both laugh at and see themselves in. The artwork continues to channel a comic-strip quality, with expressive characters, minimal words, and vibrant bursts of color that keep the focus on the action. . . . A worthy follow-up that expands on the humor and heart of the first installment, and an excellent pick for fans of humorous graphic novels and family-centered storytelling. --School Library Journal
