Makida Arshi is an author and nurse from Virginia. She is of Ethiopian descent. She lives with her husband, Dr. Ismael Yussuf, and their three daughters, Hira, Nina, and Ayah. Passionate about empowering children, she writes to inspire confidence, kindness, and self-acceptance.Her multiple award-winning book, The World Needs a Uniquely Happy You, encourages children to embrace their individuality and happiness. Her second book, Shining As I Am, fosters understanding between the neurotypical and neurodivergent communities, promoting inclusion and meaningful communication.With over two decades in nursing, Makida is deeply committed to selflessness and making a difference.
