Hamid Nassar Alsadi is a native of Hit, Anbar, Iraq. He received his BSc in Geology, Physics, and Mathematics from Reading University, UK, his MSc in Geophysics from Durham University, UK, and his PhD in Seismology from Uppsala University, Sweden. Since 1972, he has mainly worked in the field of 2D and 3D seismic data processing. During this time he was equally active in the academic domain, where he taught courses, provided thesis supervision for post-graduate students, and published a number of books and papers in both English and Arabic. After retiring from his work with the Iraqi Ministry of Oil, he served as a consultant for oil-exploration companies at home and abroad, and conducted numerous (> 45) training courses for oil-exploration personnel.
