The most helpful part of the book was realizing that we do not always give God the credit for our faith. We cannot take credit for our salvation. I have never heard a sermon or discussion about this. Thanks to Matt, I will be pondering it often. Thank you for the challenge. It will cause me to mature. I have enjoyed reading your book. I especially liked the chapter concerning faith and assurance. I found it to be so true and accurate. Any believer whether new or faltering should find this chapter to be enlightening and uplifting. Even as a Christian I felt it to be insightful. I really liked the chapter concerning freedom. So many unbelievers use freedom as their excuse to reject God. I thought Matt did a wonder job debunking that excuse and spelling out the truth. He ended the book beautifully - there is no plan B, only plan A - God's plan. Secure in Christ has consistently caused me to pause and consider, even wrestle with, key passages. I truly appreciate the depth of thought you put into your work. Each chapter is full of substantive content. Matt challenged me to think in new ways. I always believed that if there is a ""turn away from God"", then the original decision was not genuine. Matt confirms this by explaining the difference in non-believers who profess Christ versus true believers. I can't wait to share it with others. I know it will be a true blessing!
