Sarah Chaires is a medical provider, Realtor, and the founder of the Carolina Swims Foundation. This non-profit organization provides swimming lessons for underserved children and children in foster care to prevent drownings. On 10/4/2022, Sarah was diagnosed with breast cancer. After a long battle, she has become a breast cancer survivor. Sarah and her family strongly believe that self-confidence, love, and determination are the ultimate superpowers that lead to success, and it all starts with the phrase, ""You can do it!"" Elizabeth Tortora worked in advertising and toy design after graduating in graphic design from Parsons in NYC. She always secretly wanted to be a children's book illustrator, as she loves to express herself in fun and whimsical ways. After having 2 daughters, she and her family moved to North Carolina, adopted two dogs, and shortly after began a pet portrait business. When her friend, Sarah, told her about her idea for a children's book series that dealt with the common emotional struggles young children endure, but seeing it through the eyes of a dog. She knew from watching her own kids the many ways in which children can relate and learn from their pets.
