Archbishop Dr. Jean V. Wilson is a native of Mt. Vernon, New York, born the sixth of nine children to the late Matthew and Victoria Middleton. She is the mother of Cynthia W. Ushry and the proud grandmother of two grandsons, Sheldon Body Jr. and Matthew A. Ushry, as well as great-grandmother to Rayna A. Body and Brooklyn Body.Archbishop Wilson began her collegiate studies at Savannah State University in Savannah, GA, where she earned a B.S. degree in Business Education. She later graduated from Gammon Theological Seminary at the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, GA, with a Master of Divinity in The Psychology of Pastoral Care (1992). In 2002, she earned her Doctor of Ministry degree from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio, with a specialization in The Minister as Spiritual Director.Her ministry journey began in 1966 in the Fire Baptized Holiness Church (FBH). She served as Pastor of New Solomon Temple FBH in Atlanta, GA, from 1981 to 1991. In 1991, she joined the United Methodist Church, where she held various pastoral roles. In June 1998, she became Senior Pastor of Asbury Mt. Olive UMC in Topeka, KS, serving until 2002. That same year, she was appointed the first African American Associate Pastor of the 5,400-member, predominantly white St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Indianapolis, IN. She later served as Senior Pastor of Wesley United Methodist Church in Jeffersonville, IN, from 2005 until her retirement in 2010.In 2011, she joined Light of the World Christian Tabernacle, where she was consecrated as a Bishop. In 2015, she founded Cornerstone Fellowship International in Atlanta, GA-a covering fellowship for churches and para-ministries. She also established Grace Institute, a ministry dedicated to training, ordaining, consecrating, and affirming individuals in the five-fold ministry.Archbishop Wilson leads The Fellowship, a fourth Sunday service dedicated to salvation, healing, and deliverance. Her mission remains to win souls and make disciples for the Kingdom of God.On November 5, 2022, she was consecrated to the office of Archbishop in Decatur, GA. Since 2018, she has ordained, consecrated, and affirmed approximately 152 individuals across the U.S. and Africa, with active ministry presence in Kenya and Pakistan.
