Sandra Mujinga's work might offer an indication of the impact of the events of past and present on the future. Although disturbing, this power to 'sess', however speculative it might be, should be be treasured as a route to greater insight into the here and now. For every new work, standing on the shoulders of its forebears, Mujinga opens up uncharted vistas of understanding and new routes to reflection.

AUTHORS: Sandra Mujinga is a Norwegian-Congolese artist and musician. She lives and works in Oslo and Berlin. She primarily works with video, textiles, performance, photography, music, sculpture, and installation. The focal point in many of her works is identity and loss, and questions related to visibility and invisibility, often in relation to the interplay between the physical and digital realities in which people move. She often uses parallels to popular culture in her art and references everything from comic book heroes to underwater creatures and bodybuilders. Dr Tominga O'Donnell is Senior Curator of Contemporary Art at MUNCH, where she/they curated the programme Munchmuseet on the Move (2016–2019), adopting a queer curatorial approach and commissioning a range of off-site art projects. O'Donnell has been Associate Professor in the theory department at the Art Academy, University of Bergen (2018– 2022), and has been a guest teacher at The Academy of Fine Art in Oslo.
