Jon M. Quigley, PMP, CTFL, is a principal and founding member of Value Transformation, a product development-from idea to product retirement-and cost improvement organization established in 2009. Jon has two master's degrees from the City University of Seattle, and two globally recognized certifications. Jon has over thirty years of product development and manufacturing experience. Jon won the Volvo-3P Technical Award in 2005 and the 2006 Volvo Technology Award. Jon has secured seven US patents and several international patents. Jon has been on the Western Carolina University Master of Project Management Advisory Board and the Forsyth Technical Community College Advisory Board. He has also been a guest lecturer at Wake Forest University's Charlotte, NC, and Eindhoven Technical University. Jon has authored or contributed to numerous books on a range of product development and project management topics. He has co-authored or been interviewed for hundreds of magazine articles on various product development teams and manufacturing topics, appearing in more than 60 magazines, e-zines, and other outlets. In addition, he writes three recurring columns. Fred Starkey began his engineering career at Delco-Remy. Mr. Starkey was recruited by Schrader Automotive early in its development of Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems. He was responsible for the development and execution of TPMS qualification and directed the launch quality activities of the first General Motors (GM) and Chrysler programs. He holds three patents in the TPMS field. Upon leaving Schrader, Mr. Starkey began a technical consulting practice, which remains active to date. Starkey was featured at the International Quality & Productivity Centre (IQPC)'s Intelligent Tire Technology Conference for the 2007 and 2008 seasons. He served directly as Vice President of Product Development at RightPSI as Primary Investigator for developing an aviation version of the company's product under a Small Business Innovation Research contract to the US Air Force. Starkey maintains a well-equipped shop, supporting both professional and personal activities.
