Rough Guides are written by expert authors who are passionate about both writing and travel. They have detailed knowledge of the areas they write about--having either traveled extensively or lived there--and their expertise shines through on every page. It's priceless information, delivered with wit and insight, providing the down-to-earth, honest read that is the hallmark of Rough Guides. Joanna Reeves is a Sussex-based travel writer and editor who has updated several UK-based and European Rough Guides, including parts of the Rough Guides to England and Great Britain, Pocket Rough Guide Reykjavík and Rough Guide Minis Bologna and Rīga. She is also the editor of the brand-new Rough Guide to Slow Travel in Europe. Amy Hopkins has spent over a decade telling stories from around the world. An award-winning travel editor and former magazine journalist, she joined Rough Guides in 2021 and has written books covering destinations from Middlesbrough to the Moon. Rachel Lawrence is the Senior Editor for Custom Publishing at Rough Guides, and has written and commissioned travel content for destinations ranging from South America to the Shetland Isles. She has crossed several continents by train, explored the Andes on horseback and studied in France's culinary capital, Lyon. She loves nothing more than a good walk, whether it be trekking in the Himalayas or a Sunday stroll in the West Country. Libby Davies is a travel editor at Rough Guides. London-based, she still finds the city just as exciting as when she first moved in 2016. She grew up in Yorkshire and still spends time walking around the gorgeous peaks, dales and reservoirs of the north. She has updated guidebooks to London and Spain, and wherever she is travelling she likes to seek out books by local authors, especially novels that help conjure a sense of place.
