The year is 1850 and the Underground Railroad is providing enslaved people with a precious path to freedom! Twelve-year-old Rosie is enslaved with her young brother and mother on a plantation in Virginia. One day, a secret message from her father arrives. He has found freedom in the North, and it's time for them to join him. Soon, Rosie is part of a small group that uses the cover of night to make their escape. But the paths they travel are riddled with danger--and patrollers are hot on their heels. Will Rosie and her family find their way to freedom on the Underground Railroad?

Dolores Andral earned an MFA from Queens University in Charlotte, NC. She loves writing for kids because she believes children should see themselves reflected in the books they read. She lives with her husband and four kids in Washington State. Chiara ""Soia"" Manetti is an Italian illustrator who grew up in the countryside. They were never good with words, so they learned to express and communicate through art--eventually making it their job! They studied sculpture for theatre props and are currently learning animation to refine their storytelling abilities. Soia loves picking up different hobbies, like crochet, and spending time with their cat.
