I'm totally happy with this book. I planted first two rosebushes in my life last month and thanks to this book they are thriving at the moment. It gives you information on everything: planting, pruning, soil, amendments, fertilizing, insects. Both organic and chemical treatments described. More than that, it gave me a summary on everything I'd read before. I've heard so much about fertilizing: compost, manure, fish emulsion, bone meal, alfalfa, chemical fertilizers. It was a mess. I wasn't sure if I can apply them all or just one of them, how much, how frequently and how much is too much. This book gave me the answer. Unfortunately I even had a chance to try advices on curing insect contamination and everything is great. I feel confident due to the book. Definitely recommend! This author always produces an entertaining as well as informative book. Roses can be temperamental and this book is going to help me grow them! I especially enjoyed the photos and descriptions of many roses that are not often seen at the local nurseries around here. This author also does a great job of describing organic methods and the 'over the counter' alternatives. This book will be added to mt gardening shelf to refer back to often. Thanks for sharing your expertise in such a fun manner! A great little book. Nothing complicated - perfect for those with little or no experience. Written in an easy style to read, if at times a little colloquial for British readers. Glad I picked up a copy.
