The industry-standard resource for stress and stain formulas—fully updated for the latest advances and ease of use

Fully revised and expanded with a new more open design, Roark's Formulas for Stress and Strain, Ninth Edition provides accurate and thorough tabulated formulations that can be applied to the stress analysis of a comprehensive range of structural components. All equations and diagrams of structural properties are laid out in an new format that makes it easier to access and use the information.

This extensively updated edition contains new and revised content on a broad range of subjects, including fatigue stress formulas, Castigliano’s theorems for calculating deflections, finite element and boundary element methods, fracture mechanics, and the elasticity of materials.  The book contains an all-new section on factor of safety and contains the codes and standards that apply to mechanical design. You will get a solid grounding in the mathematical theory behind each formula along with real-world applications in everything from beams and columns to fasteners and joints across the most commonly used materials.

• Presents all the stress and strain facts, principles, and formulas in a new, easier to read format • New second color enhances the user experience. • Streamlines content from previous editions and features new content
