""I bought this book entirely on spec, simply because I am at the age of ""retirement"", 67, and truly for no other reason at all. Many, many books too numerous to menton are written by hundreds of authors in the UK about retiement, especially from a financial perspective. This one is written clearly and concisely; easy to read in a couple of hours if you have time; and an enjoyable insigfht which tends not to concentrate on too much finance - Harry Austin, who wrote the book clearly mentions that was his intention. Finance is a critical component for everybody who retires: we all seek an active retirement and a clear change to our routine and careers. Instead, Harry concentrates on giving the reader optrions about what they can do with the time left as most healthy people can expect to live longer but gradually our physical abilities tend to ""wear out"", so to speak, as the ageing process takes over. I thought Harry's Guide To A Successful Retirement was well written and certainly well worth buying. I love his phrase: ""You Retire .... You Don't Expire!"" (or similarily worded in the book.) Plus, there are many bullet pointed ideas about what you can do in retirement, e.g taking up a new hobby or learning a new languare, or taking part in a structured learning course such as distance learning, though the Open University. I would recommend buying Harry's Guide. An enjoyable read and well worth the cover price. Thanks Harry.""
