Baron Perlman is a long-time collector of American antiques and other genres. When young he began with stamps, baseball cards and comic books. Oh, if he had only kept the latter. Collecting is what he does.Born in Chicago Perlman attended Lawrence University (Appleton, WI) and Michigan State University where he earned his master's and doctorate in clinical psychology. His MSU sojourn was interrupted by service in the U.S. Army, including a tour in Vietnam. As a clinical psychologist he worked in the Department of Psychology at the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh and consulted. He spent a lot of time listening and ""making sense of,"" both of which have served him well as a collector and author. He is now joyfully retired. His interests in collecting and writing have led to num-erous columns in the national publication, Maine Antique Digest. In 2019 he published Come Collect with Me: Musings on Collecting and American Antiques. And in 2021 his second book saw the light of day, The Collector's World: More Musings on Collecting and American Antiques.Married 53 years, his wife Sandy joins him in collecting. They have lived in flyover country, Oshkosh, Wisconsin, for what seems like an impossibly long time and have two sons and two cats. Neither son nor the cats are as consumed with collecting and writing as their dad is.
