Professor of Covenantal Theology & Intercultural Studies at Globe
Covenant Seminary, Atlanta, Georgia
Luther J. Kim studied Biblical Theology in the M.
Div. program at Chongshin Theological Seminary in Korea and continued his academic journey to earn a Th.M. in Systematic Theology. He later earned his Th.M. from Calvin Theological Seminary in Michigan, USA, where his focus was on Abraham Kuyper's concept of Sphere Sovereignty. In 2000, he planted a Korean immigrant church in Chicago while pursuing a Ph.D. in Intercultural Studies at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.
After 12 years of ministry, Luther experienced a profound theological transformation through a deeper understanding of God's covenant, which resulted in a paradigm shift in his approach to Christian theology. He then resigned from pastoral ministry and, in 2020, founded Globe Covenant Seminary in Atlanta, Georgia, to equip Christian workers with a biblical understanding of God's covenant and Christian apologetics for engaging with an increasingly atheistic and post-Christian society.
He has been a presenter three times at the Association of Professors of Mission (2018, 2020, and 2023), and is currently leading the Kingdom Discipleship movement within local churches and mission contexts. His work was recently presented at the 2025 AETE/APM conference held at Saint Mary's College.
