Mary Kretlow has read thousands of children's books throughout her career as a teacher and thousands more as a mother. She taught all the elementary grades and even spent a few years as a teacher librarian. Needless to say, books are a passion. Currently she is a board member for a local literacy foundation and volunteers for ""Fostering Literacy"" by reading aloud in schools. She knows the power and pleasure of sharing a book and wants all children to have these wonderful experiences. When she's not reading or writing about reading, she can be found carving nature trails through the forest, walking her dog, tending her gardens, hanging out with family and friends, or sipping tea by the river.
