Lauren Aldoroty is a postdoctoral research associate at Duke University, where their research focuses on supernova cosmology using data from NASA’s upcoming Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope. They especially enjoy any chance they get to write useful code, and going on about why we should all care more about supernova physics. Dr. Aldoroty graduated from Texas A&M University with a Ph.D. in astronomy. They also hold a B.S. in physics from Johns Hopkins University. In their spare time, Dr. Aldoroty enjoys having zero spare time due to picking up far too many hobbies. Some of Dr. Aldoroty’s lifelong, core-personality-level interests include horses, rifle shooting, and drawing. Some of their more recent interests include vegan baking, pottery, and drinking fancy tea.
