This book collects peer-reviewed papers from the RILEM Spring Conference on Durability of Building Materials and Systems in Transportation Infrastructure, held in Mendrisio, Switzerland, on 25–28 March 2025. The contributions provide an up-to-date overview of advances in materials science and structural engineering, with a particular focus on the durability, performance and sustainability of construction materials and systems used in modern infrastructure. They also showcase recent progress in experimental techniques and analytical models that support preventive maintenance and the long-term performance of infrastructure assets.
The topics include pavement maintenance, innovative cementitious composites, bridge and structural applications, corrosion mechanisms, diagnostic and monitoring techniques, strategies for deterioration mitigation and approaches to service life design. In addition to infrastructure applications, selected papers address sustainable architecture and heritage conservation, offering an integrated perspective on the durability and preservation of the built environment.
