Ivan. V. Andronov is a professor at the Department of Computational Physics, State University of Saint Petersburg, Russia, and a professor at Mikhailovskaya Military Artillery Academy, Russia. His work is mainly concerned with theory of boundary-contact problems of mathematical physics, high frequency diffraction, interaction of sound and vibration and application of operator methods to diffraction problems. He received his Ph.D. in mathematical physics from the State University of Saint Petersburg in 1991, and his Doctor of Science in acoustics from the Marine Technical University of Saint Petersburg in 2008. Since 1987 he has worked at the State University of Saint Petersburg in Russia. He also worked as a researcher at the University Bordeaux-1 in France, and was a visiting professor at École Normale Supérieure de Cachan in France and at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in the USA. He is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Electromagnetic Wavesand Applications. He was the general chair of Photonics and Electromagnetics Research Symposium (PIERS) in St. Petersburg in 2017 and is a member of the organizing committee of the annual conference “Days on Diffraction”.
