"""Good sermons speak to particular communities at particular times and in particular contexts; excellent sermons also point to enduring, timeless truths. Practicing the Promise convincingly demonstrates that present, past, and future can find common ground on Sunday mornings. Sermons preached over three and half decades still resonate today. Rich in biblical and historical background, they are models for both seasoned and aspiring preachers, as well as anyone seeking insight and inspiration in their Christian faith."" --David Hogue, professor emeritus of pastoral theology and counseling, Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary ""Good sermons speak to particular communities at particular times and in particular contexts; excellent sermons also point to enduring, timeless truths.
