In leadership roles, they championed community outreach by creating events like an essay contest titled ""Why I Did Not Join a Gang"" and organizing Chats with the Commander meetings to encourage dialogue with local residents.A strong advocate for personal and professional development, Dr. Harris pursued higher education with support from their police department, earning a master's degree in General Administration and, in April 2014, a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice from Capella University.
