Buried deep, in the ancient poetic Hebrew prayer book of the Psalms, there is a collection of pilgrim songs, Psalms 120 to 134 - the Psalms of Ascent. They are prayers, songs and poetry that echo the journeys God's people made, three times a year up to the temple in Jerusalem.

Whether people of faith or no faith, our lives continue to echo the journeys of those ancient pilgrims. Sometimes that journey is taken alone, sometimes in community, but the relentless challenges of our journeys, the year-on-year struggles to share the complexity of our lives with others or even ourselves, remains.

Pilgrim Prayers for the Journey Home is a contemplative fourteen day pilgrimage through the Psalms of Ascent, encouraging daily prayer, meditation and reflection to encourage you on your daily walk through the challenges of everyday life, connecting you to those first pilgrims and to the God who walks alongside today.

Living on the edge of the Quantock Hills in Somerset-near a sacred spring and the ruins of an ancient monastic site-I spend much of my time walking, writing, and reflecting. Alongside my work in healthcare, I draw on a journey shaped by years as a church leader, missional worker, and pastor-teacher. In recent years, poetry and prayer have become the heart of my spiritual practice-companions through seasons of change, loss, and quiet renewal. I am the author of two books of poetry and two contemplative guides to prayer and spiritual reflection. Resurrection and Return continues a deepening exploration of nature, memory, and the wide, generous love of the Divine.
