Serena Patel is the author of the Anisha, Accidental Detective series which won the Sainsbury's Children's Book Award for Fiction. She lives in the West Midlands with her family and believes all children deserve to feel seen in the stories they read and that books are an important tool for empathy. When she's not writing Serena enjoys watching movies, reading and eating cake. Chocolate cake preferred. Emma McCann is a freelance illustrator, sporadic painter/print maker, occasional cake baker, and regular mess maker. She lives in Cornwall and works from an attic studio where her ideas are scribbled, Wacom'd, and Photoshopped into existence. In her spare time, Emma undertakes scientific research into Cornwall's best cream tea and takes it very, very seriously.

Reviews for Pia's Pet Club: Puppy Problem

Such a fun, joyous read and purrfect for animal lovers. I adored it. * Hannah Gold, author of The Last Bear * Pia's Pet Club is a parcel of puppy-packed perfection! I absolutely loved meeting Pia, her family and her friends both human and animal. I wouldn't want to stop reading even if someone shouted 'bananas!' When I was young I wanted to be a vet and I just wish I'd had this wonderful book to read back then. * Chris Smith, co-author of the KID NORMAL series * Pia's Pet Club has everything I love in a book: dogs, a random fact about pigeons and heaps of heart. Serena's characters are always ones I wished I was best pals with at school and Emma's illustrations are brilliant and hilarious. This is a book that showcases a positive representation of a beautiful South Asian co-parented family - a voice massively lacking from our bookshelves. Pia's Pet Club is perfect for pet-loving young readers who are looking for lots of laughs, some doggy mayhem and a bit of sibling rivalry. * Swapna Haddow, author of Dave Pigeon * The perfect book for every child who's ever begged for a pet. Charming, warm and emotionally real, with untrained puppies and annoying older sisters making Pia's life a non-stop chaos parade! * Louie Stowell, author of Loki * I love this book! Funny and adorable - Serena has created another gem with Pia. * Abiola Bello, author of Wild Magic *
