John is a freelance writer, a PCIP, CISSP & CCSK Certified Cybersecurity Consultant, and a Full Member of the Chartered Institute of Information Security (CIIS). He works for an international offshore bank and previously spent many years working in Automotive Security, with the last twenty years in IT & Information Security within the Banking, Financial, and Logistics service sectors. He successfully implemented PCI-DSS and a Secure-SDLC, and manages security for all projects, including governance, compliance, system design choices, implementations, vendor relationships, and so much more. Before having a cybersecurity career, John spent many years attending crime scenes, specifically automotive crime, picking up the pieces with Law Enforcement and other emergency services. Initially, working as a security product specialist and incident responder, then as an incident manager across central London. 'At a deep level, security has always been top of mind for me; it's in my nature to ask questions, be curious, and be vigilant. This 'Security Mindset' translates into Zero tolerance for any crime, especially cybercrime, and a Zero Trust by design viewpoint.' John's writing journey enables him to present the PCIP 3.0 Ultimate Study Guide from a practical, pragmatic, and resourceful viewpoint. With a passion for creative writing, and a fascination for anything cyber-related, backed by his security background, his future projects include the PCIP 4.0, which will coincide with the PCI-DSS 4.0 - 2025 compliance deadline.
