Start work knowing exactly how you get paid, and how to grow it.

If you're stepping into the world of work, whether it's a weekend job, a summer shift, or your first ""proper"" role, your job is not to have it all figured out, but to give your future self some interesting options.

And you deserve to understand what really happens between accepting a job and seeing money land in your bank account.

In Pay Me, payroll expert Hayley Paterson pulls back the curtain on the systems most young people are never taught about: contracts, rotas, minimum wage, tax, pensions, payslips, and workplace rights. She walks you through the real process of getting paid, from writing your CV and decoding job adverts to understanding what deductions mean and how to fix mistakes if something doesn't add up.

But this book isn't just about understanding payroll. It's about building confidence and direction from the start. Hayley introduces practical frameworks to help you become a ""skills collector"", ""connection builder"", grow your value in the workplace, and make intentional career moves instead of drifting from job to job.

With straight-talking guidance, relatable examples, and practical exercises you can use immediately, Pay Me helps you move from confusion to clarity - and from simply earning money to using it as the foundation for your future.

Getting paid isn't the end goal.

It's the starting point.
