The first book in a planned series, Parents and Schools in Partnership responds to the growing call for partnership-based involvement in schools as a means to enhance student academic achievement. In today's rapidly evolving educational landscape, schools can no longer operate in isolation but must instead draw on the school and wider community to meet their goals.

Drawing on extensive research in school improvement and parental involvement, and the author's own experiences, this book illustrates the powerful impact of fostering genuine partnerships that enable students to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

At a time when accountability is at the heart of education reform, school-community collaboration is increasingly recognized as an essential approach for improving education quality. Featuring insights from leading education experts, this book offers an integrated review of perspectives on how parental involvement influences student outcomes. Practical strategies for meaningful collaboration are provided for schools and parents to overcome barriers and ensure that all students can reach their full potential.

Whether you are an educator, school leader, or parent, Parents and Schools in Partnership equips you with the tools, knowledge, and inspiration needed to forge strong, enduring partnerships that benefit students, teachers, and the wider community.

""This book is a thorough study that extensively draws on academic literature, while also reflecting the author's own insightful experiences. It is truly one of the best studies I have encountered on this subject.""

Anthony Alcide has dedicated his life to education, both as a passionate, dedicated educator and as an advocate for the growth and development of children. He holds a master's degree in Educational Administration and Management (London), along with a bachelor's degree with honours in Educational Administration (UWI). This academic background, combined with extensive training and years of hands-on experience in educational settings, has equipped him with the skills and tools necessary to advocate for prioritizing children's education. Throughout his career, Mr. Alcide actively engaged in facilitating parent-teacher collaborations to identify and address students' learning challenges; implementing strategies to strengthen school-family partnerships, ensuring parents felt empowered to contribute to their children's educational journey; and observing the direct impact of parental involvement on student performance, behaviour, and overall school culture. His professional experiences have shaped his conviction that education should not be the responsibility of schools alone, but a collaborative effort between educators, parents, and communities. Mr. Alcide lives in Ontario, Canada, with his wife and daughter.
