Tom Plunkett is a senior solution consultant with Oracle. Tom is a published author and has taught graduate-level computer science courses for Virginia Techs computer science department. Tom frequently speaks at conferences, including the Air Force Information Technology Conference, Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association conferences, Big Data Camp, Cloud Camp, Collaborate, EclipseCon, Foresight Vision Weekend, Innovations in e-Learning Symposium, the International Cloud Symposium, Open Group Member Conferences, the OSD NDU Social Media Implementation Across Organizational Boundaries conference, the Red Hat Summit, the Redstone Arsenal IT Security & Assurance Conference, the SOA Symposium, SOA World, the Web 2.0 Expo, and other conferences. Previously, Tom worked for IBM and the United States Government, taught computer science for Virginia Tech, and practiced patent law for a law firm. Tom has a B.A. and a J.D. from George Mason University, and a M.S. in Computer Science from Virginia Tech. Helen Sun is the co-author of Oracle Big Data Handbook and wrote two chapters including Chapter 11 on Endeca and Chapter 13 on Big Data Architecture development. She has written one of the most downloaded white papers on Big Data (along with numerous other white papers on Information Architecture and Data Governance). Helen is the lead author of Oracle Information Architecture and Framework, and has spoken at various industry events including being a keynote speaker at Open Groups World Conference on Big Data and Oracle Open World. Helen is a current Oracle employee working on Endeca integration and Oracle Big Data. She regularly performs demos and education sessions with Oracle customers on Endeca and analytics and real-world expertise on implementing business analytics using Endeca for a variety of industries including Financial Services, HealthCare, Research, Manufacturing, Retail, CGP, and Public Sector Robert (Bob) Stackowiak, VP, Enterprise Solutions, Oracle, has worked for over 20 years in the IT industry.
