Nutritional balance is fundamental for athletes, requiring a strategic approach to fueling and recovery. Carbohydrates provide essential energy for training, protein supports muscle repair and adaptation, and healthy fats, vitamins, and minerals contribute to sustained physiological function, while proper hydration underpins all aspects of performance. Equally important is nutrient timing, with pre-workout carbohydrate intake enhancing energy availability and post-workout combinations of protein and carbohydrates promoting effective recovery. When tailored to the individual athlete's demands, a well-structured nutrition plan not only improves performance and recovery but also helps reduce the risk of injury and supports long-term strength and endurance. Nutrition Balance for Athletic Performance and Recovery explores the critical role of nutrition in supporting an athlete's performance and overall well-being. Athletes require a balanced, sport-specific diet to reach their full potential, with proper nutritional intake enhancing performance, supporting rehabilitation, and reducing the risk of injury. By examining the diverse nutritional needs of athletes, this book provides a comprehensive understanding of how tailored nutrition strategies can enhance performance, accelerate recovery, and sustain long-term health and well-being. Covering topics such as anti-inflammatory nutrition strategy, injury prevention, and sport supplementation, this book is a critical academic resource for graduate and doctoral students, athletes, researchers, nutritionists, academicians, and more.
