It itemizes the requirements for NT Scanning and the possible challenges the Ultrasonographer may encounter in the discharge of his/her duties. The contents of the book, which is captured in six chapters, covers other topics such as; quick anatomy check, types of tests including non invasive prenatal testing, documentation of the examinations, multiple pregnancies, nuchal cord, ductus venosus and the criteria of what good NT and CRL measurements amongst others. Forty cases of abnormalities and variants are presented in the last chapter.

NT Scanning for the Beginner is a great handbook for the beginner in NT scanning and an excellent resource in ultrasound and obstetrics departments. Its simple layout makes it a good referral resource and ready manual in organised learning.

The book which comes in a colourful and well-designed cover will no doubt invite students and practitioners in the field to read. It is highly recommended!

Reviews for NT Scanning for the Beginner

It gives me great pleasure to review 'NT Scanning for the Beginner' written by a qualified professional who is passionate about scanning and has a thorough knowledge of the ultrasound principles, techniques and diagnosis. In this book, the author explains the difference between NIPT and the combined test in NT screening as well as the role of the Sonographer in educating women and helping them to understand the significance of the combined test. 'NT Scanning for the Beginner' comes in a simple layout that is easy to carry about on a daily basis. It covers every aspect of the combined test and will serve as a quick referral at the time of the scan. The book will also be a valuable resource for everyone who is performing the combined test. Overall, it is my considered opinion that 'NT Scanning for the Beginner' will cover a gap in 1st trimester ultrasonographic evaluation. Hopefully, it will succeed also, in conveying the passion and the knowledge of the author to the reader.
