Winner of the Daily Mail First Novel competition, Heather Mottershead lives in Shropshire. Having been an accountant for more years than she cares to remember, she undertook a part-time History and English BA degree in 2009. Her debut novel, No Women Were Harmed, was born out of her love for both historical research and the county in which she resides.
A fabulous Sarah Waters meets Promising Young Woman slice of Victoriana about madness and murderousness with the most glorious of unreliable narrators. Absolutely loved it - so gripping, so unpredictable, and Lily is a character for the ages, unapologetically devious and sly, but still a(n anti) heroine readers will be rooting for. I'll be recommending this one to many people! * Naomi Kelsey, author of THE BURNINGS * An intriguing setting, complex characters and evocative writing; [No Women Were Harmed] has all the ingredients of a bestseller * Clare Mackintosh, author of THE LAST PARTY * An unreliable narrator makes for an intriguing lead character and compulsive reading in this historical novel set in the late 19th century...mesmerising * Liz Robinson, Love Reading Pick of the Month * Lily has found herself shackled in a Victorian asylum, accused of leaving a slew of missing men in her wake...Haunting * Crime Monthly *
