Osteoporosis is one of the most common chronic diseases affecting older people worldwide, with increasing incidence, enormous socioeconomic costs, and serious losses in quality of life. Despite available standard therapies, care remains inadequate in many cases: new fractures, under-treatment, and poor adherence to therapy are ongoing challenges.
