The replacement of a diseased liver with a healthy liver is known as liver transplantation. Liver transplantation is used as a treatment option for acute liver failure and end-stage liver disease. Orthotopic transplantation is a common and effective technique used for liver transplantation. The transplantation surgery usually takes 4 to 18 hours.
