Mike Kinney is president of Safety Culture Strategies, LLC, and has spoken at numerous conferences across the United States, addressing safety culture. He has authored a series of technical papers that address the same topic. He was selected to provide an article for the highly respected Performance 360 Magazine that discusses the important role leaders serve in championing an effective safety culture. He is also the author of Dare to Be a Difference Maker. He is a Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) Certified Safety Professional (CSP), with over thirty years of progressive experience working with numerous organizations and companies across the United States, assisting them with their safety and health programs. Mike is also an Exemplar-Global Certified Lead Auditor for ISO 45001, Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems. In addition, he is a graduate of the Ziglar Institute and is a Ziglar certified keynote speaker, leadership coach, and Ziglar Legacy instructor. During his career, Mike has provided senior level consultative support to numerous headquarters' organizational elements within the Department of Energy (DOE), the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), and the U.S. Navy. Topics include safety culture, integrated safety management, nuclear safety, facility safety, and worker safety. He has also led a series of accident investigations in addition to conducting evaluations addressing implementation of safety culture attributes, and he has served on Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and DOE/NNSA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) on-site review teams.
