Natural antimalarial drug discovery and development represent both a scientific necessity and an opportunity for empowerment. Malaria remains a major public health challenge across many tropical and subtropical regions, that are collectively home to the richest reservoirs of traditional medicinal knowledge. Leveraging these local resources has the potential to create novel antimalarial compounds while fostering homegrown research capacity. Aligning global health priorities but also supporting equitable innovation, positioning the Global South as a central player in the ongoing fight against malaria. Natural Antimalarial Drug Discovery and Development in the Global South explores the untapped potential of phytochemicals and herbal medicine in combating malaria within the Global South. This book gives attention to locally available, culturally accepted, and scientifically promising alternatives. Covering topics such as drug discovery, malarial drugs, and regional development, this book is an excellent resource for academics, graduate students, pharmaceutical developers, researchers, pharmacologists, and more.
