After graduating from the University of Sheffield, John Marsden spent some years teaching Computer Science to sixth form students at Mexborough School, before returning to university to take a postgraduate degree in Control Sytems. A career in IT Systems (defence and telecommunications) was to follow, during which he became a director of a small company offering services to the IT industry. Marriage to his Spanish wife has stimulated an interest in Spanish culture, literature, and history: mainly, though not exclusively, relating to the Peninsular War. His knowledge of Spanish has allowed him to bring to light a number of documents relating to that conflict currently lying in the Spanish military archives. He lives in Hampshire and has two grown up children, Joseph and Teresa. This is his first book.
...a far more detailed account of the affair than that usually given in English language histories which I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone interested in the Peninsular War. * Miniature Wargames - Arthur Harman 21/06/2021 *
