During his forty-year career in the fashion industry, Clovis became recognized as a leader across retail, wholesale, design, and manufacturing. He earned widespread acclaim for creating one of the most successful wholesale showrooms for women's fashion accessories in the industry. His extensive international travel exposed him to diverse cultures around the world. Clovis credits his professional success to hard work, compassion, sensitivity, and a God-given critical eye for fashion, presentation, and design. He retired early to devote himself to his mother's care-an experience that became the foundation for his first book. Craig Clovis is the author of My Ladies of Fairmount Street, his second book. His debut, Two Brothers, Their Mother, and the Green-Eyed Monster, was published in 2022 and chronicles the four years he spent caring for his mother after her dementia diagnosis-while dealing with two jealous siblings who wanted total control.
Book Review 1: Judy Robinson, Professional Caregiver --- I had the privilege of caring for Craig's mother for 4 years until dementia took her life. During that time I watched Craig learn what it meant to show up every day and be there for his mother that he loved very much. As things got worse he did not turn away like his siblings did, he was there everyday. As I read his book I could visualize him giving 100% of himself to helping these ladies like he did for his mom. As a professional caregiver, I know how rare this kind of commitment is, especially from someone who wasn't being paid and had no family obligation to these women. This book is a wake-up call, a message I know personally that needs to be addressed.
