A labor of love that has spanned over 20 years has been completed. Our own Stephanie Mason has compiled a new and different way of tracing her family called MY FAMILY TREE; a book that details the members of her family all the way back through slavery.
In putting together, the information for her book, Stephanie spent time with relatives in the South, and even walked around cemeteries and old homesteads.
You can be sure that it was no easy task, as some members of her family refused to help, not understanding what she was doing. But, in spite of every obstacle, she kept going and is now able to see the fruits of her labor. There are some surprises in the book, too! The book traces both her mother's and father's sides of the family and includes official documents to prove her efforts.
At more than 400 pages, her book is an exciting journey through time, something like the ""Roots"" of the 21st century.
