Kin Sheung Chiaretto Yan (甄健湘) is visiting professor at the University of Saint Joseph-Macau and the National Seminary of the Catholic Church in China. He holds a doctorate in practical theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, another doctorate in philosophy from the Sophia University Institute in Loppiano, and is the author of Evangelization in China: Challenges and Prospects (Orbis Books) and Seasons for Relationships. He is a consecrated member of the international Focolare movement.
“Yan invites readers to a ‘voyage of discovery’ to the unknown, discovering, after all, that we can be a gift to one another and appreciate each other’s positive values, paving pathways to fraternity and peace.”—Antonio Spadaro, SJ, Undersecretary of the Dicastery for Culture and Education and former Editor in Chief, La Civiltà Cattolica “Yan gives the reader a fresco that resonates through the prism of his living experience, committed to the Gospel and sprouting from the womb of Chinese culture so that it may shine in all its beauty in the rainbow of unity.”—Piero Coda, Secretary General of the Pontifical International Theological Commission “Yan’s dream of harmonious relationships echoes the Confucian saying, ‘heaven and humans are united as one.’ His research is rooted in Chinese wisdom, Catholic teaching, and contemporary Chinese contributions to human development. He is opening doors to a way of avoiding dangerous violent conflicts among humans that will destroy nature.”—Thomas McGuire, former Board Chair of the US-China Catholic Association
