Reviews via Amazon Katja 4.0 out of 5 stars Music theory Reviewed in the United States on October 7, 2021 Music Theory for Beginners explains some of the key concepts in music theory in a readable way. If you're a complete beginner, I think learning some of this stuff from a book would be pretty difficult because you need to hear and experiment how the notes, intervals, chords, rhythms and time signatures etc. sound for the terms to become really meaningful. But combined with music lessons or some other way to demonstrate and put it in practice this book works as a quick revision tool to study. One thing that you won't learn here is how to read music scores, what different notations on your piano sheets or tablatures mean or what the performance instructions that are often in Italian mean. Judith 4.0 out of 5 stars Well worth reading. Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 10 October 2021 This book is short enough not to be overbearing yet contains all the necessary information to give a thorough appreciation of the building blocks that music is built on. It is an instructional book written in an easy-to-read and follow style which many music students will find helpful. I am more than happy to recommend this book to all students and enthusiasts of music.
