Many people are confused and dissatisfied with life and with themselves. Modern society, referred to as a ""burnout society,"" makes individuals and groups suffer even more from such pain. The problems of various forms of hatred and discrimination that exist in each society on Earth are by no means few, and conflicts and clashes between nations and regions continue to occur everywhere. These human problems are not unique to modern people alone. From ancient times to the future, they will inevitably continue to exist alongside humanity until we realize and transcend the ""fundamental limitations, fundamental delusions, fundamental errors, fundamental ignorance and unknowing"" that humans possess. No matter what scientific, technological, humanistic, or social developments occur, while relative changes may be achieved, fundamental solutions cannot be reached. Only the forms change, but the suffering of human individuals and groups continues to repeat in the past, present, and future. Many people are exploring and pursuing ""enlightenment."" They practice and strive with the goal of actually becoming enlightened. The problem is that while doing so, they often don't know what true enlightenment actually is. Even after studying earnestly and for long periods, they may not achieve enlightenment. There may be no progress at all, or while seeming to have progressed to some degree, they cannot gauge for themselves how much they have actually awakened. They may feel they have learned various things from their studies and seem to know something and feel accomplished, but in reality, many are stuck, going in circles, or chasing illusions. Even if others don't know, they know deep inside that they haven't yet awakened, but there are cases where they close their mind's eye and deceive themselves, saying ""I've achieved enough. There's nothing more to do."" The reason for all this confusion is that while claiming to explore and pursue enlightenment, they are actually chasing their own fantasies rather than ""true enlightenment."" In other words, they are looking at, exploring, and studying ""the wrong thing."" To use the metaphor of seeds, they planted the wrong seed from the beginning. Or they planted the right seed but failed to properly provide the subsequent sunlight, water, and nutrients. Naturally, they cannot bear the fruit of enlightenment. The book's author, MuRu, also went through such a process for quite a long time in the distant past, following teachings that were not true enlightenment while claiming to pursue and explore something fundamental, actual enlightenment. However, the sincere desire for ""correct, proper"" truth about enlightenment was never abandoned for even a moment. Finally, meeting a truly enlightened teacher and their teachings, exploring ""correct enlightenment"" and obtaining actual enlightenment. Now, this book is published to share these teachings with more people and to achieve enlightenment together with them.
