Reviews for Mother Gertie: A Mother Goose

Mother Gertie is another lovely children's book by Terrie Sizemore with some amazing illustrations. This time, it's based on a true story with some photos at the end of the book that bring real life to the tale. It's a lovely book that kids will love reading - or having read to them - time and again, and it shows them that families come in all shapes and sizes. You don't have to be an actual mom - so long as you are filled with love and a caring heart, you can be a mom to anyone. It helps kids see that, even if their parents are adoptive, foster, or step-parents, it doesn't matter; family is all about real bonds. This is a great teaching tool for parents and a fun read for any time of day, at home or at school, and it's also a good way to encourage children to build good reading habits, as are all of Terrie's books. Enjoyable story, recommended for all kids. Reader's Favorite Reviews
