The book presents Indian discoveries and achievements in sciences like mathematics, astronomy, cosmology, physics, chemistry, medicine and psychology, from Vedic age up to 1200 CE. The poor conditions of sciences in the Greek, Roman and Christian periods of Europe have been described for comparison. Transfers of knowledge from India to China, Arabia and Europe have been documented with evidence.

Author has discovered many scientific contents in Rig-, Yajur- and Atharva Vedas for the first time. A good exposition of Vaisheshika Sutras of Kanada, and Padarthadharma-Samgraha of Prashastapada is another first in this book. The book reveals how Sanskrit language acted as the essential linguistic equipment for birth of modern number system and science. Europe was a centre of superstitions and ignorance during the Christian rule (CE 400-1600). This has been called the Dark Age. In Europe, calculations beyond adding and subtracting were not possible up to 1500 CE. Greek mathematics and medicine were banned by Christian rulers of Europe. All institutions of sciences were labelled pagan and were closed by Christian rulers. They attributed all diseases to witches, ghosts and demons.
