I was diagnosed with General Idiopathic Epilepsy aged 15. To live a life where you will always be different from the norm is an experience in itself. Illness or disabilities are defined as limitations, handicaps to life. There will always be that voice which at times speaks to those who know the implications of long term illness that wishes it were gone. To make peace with that voice, and live life knowing there will always be those elements of life you may not know is to find the self. Already so many live with illness, don't live bound by frustration and what ifs as well. Live to know all the other elements of life you can and experience what it is to simply be your self.
A book written for all those who live with, care for, know, or even hold within their circle, one with a long term illness, written not to drag pity from those who read it, but rather to offer my own tale up as an example. One that I hope may help people understand, what it means to be forever limited due to something beyond control of the individual. But even more so, to help those who are living with such conditions, to share my experience. How I have moved through life, my successes and failures, if nothing else an opportunity to know there is always more to know, more to learn in life, in spite of any limitations.
