Healing the sick, bringing freedom from evil spirits, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God--these instructions are the core of what Jesus commanded the Twelve and seventy to do as he sent them out on mission. Missiology--the study of mission--explores how the good news of the kingdom of God and of Jesus is communicated across cultures. Many involved in mission have found that this communication requires more than words; it also entails visible demonstrations of God's power to heal, set people free from spiritual oppression, and challenge unbiblical adherence to harmful animistic and folk practices. This book by renowned missiologist Charles H. Kraft explores what missiology informed by and infused with Jesus-centered spiritual power looks like. It is packed with insights based on a lifetime of practical experience, field research, and biblical reflection. In Missiology with Power, Kraft addresses topics such as spiritual power and authority, ways cultures see invisible spiritual realities, and how Jesus can be followed in culturally relevant ways that also challenge and change unbiblical traditional beliefs in magic, divination, cursing, worship of spirits, and other related practices. Exceedingly practical and challenging, this short work, Kraft's final book, does not disappoint.

Charles H. Kraft, a creative missiologist, spent over forty years teaching in the School of Intercultural Studies (formerly School of World Mission) at Fuller Seminary. After serving as a pioneer missionary in northern Nigeria, he became a pioneer in incarnational ministry and spiritual warfare. His scholarship, biblical basis, and international ministry have resulted in publishing a dozen books focusing on listening, loving, and serving those under evil spiritual influences and giving them tools to overcome as they develop a Bible-based Christianity that meets their needs.
