Mandy Archer has devised all kinds of titles for children and teens, ranging from board books for babies through to picture books, pop-ups and paperback fiction. She shares a studio in Epsom with other writers and designers. When she needs some extra inspiration, she enjoys talking in primary schools about fairy tales, book making and more. Mandy and her family live near the racecourse on Epsom Downs. Katie Abey is an illustrator human who lives in a teeny hobbit-like house in Derbyshire with a cat, a hedgehog and a husband. She is a big lover of animals and her work often features creatures looking slightly nonchalant, perturbed or even a bit deranged.
Our increasingly endangered planet is encouraging many young people to take more interest in the world around them and the vast global community. So here are two thoughtful and informative activity books for children who want to sustain and protect the world we live in, and to learn just what we can do to be more caring and kind to those who share our planet. Many schools are now introducing mindful techniques to the classroom and this spring Studio Press have published two new carefully created activity books in their Mindful Kids series. Be Green! - written by Mandy Archer and illustrated by Katie Abey - is a superb Mindful Kids Global Citizen activity book for young people to colour, doodle and DIY their way to living a more responsible, sustainable life.
