Dr Tom Mallinson: Prehospital care doctor, senior lecturer, and rural physician.Dr Mallinson started his career in London, with the IHCD Ambulance Aid and Paramedic qualifications alongside the University of Hertfordshire bachelor's degree in paramedic science. After working as a paramedic, practice placement educator and CBRN operative for the London Ambulance Service NHS Trust, he moved on to read medicine at the University of Warwick. Dr Mallinson has worked in anaesthesia, critical care and rural medicine in England, Jersey and Scotland. He continued his studies with postgraduate qualifications in healthcare education, musculoskeletal medicine and primary care. Tom is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, the Academy of Wilderness Medicine, the Royal Geographical Society and the Faculty of Remote, Rural and Humanitarian Healthcare. He works as a prehospital care doctor and rural GP, as well as undertaking roles in healthcare education and with BASICS Scotland.
