The science of health is never settled...

What if everything you thought you understood about health and wellness was wrong? What if the official guidelines were based on shaky science? What if you could untangle the evidence and learn exactly how to enhance your health? Good news - you can!

When Dr Tim O'Dowd analysed the health literature, he was shocked at the level of conflicting research, biases, industry influences, and flawed or outdated official recommendations from governments and trusted organisations. If the experts can't get it right, how is the average person meant to interpret all of that confounding advice?

In his prevention playbook, Dr Tim explains the pillars of good health (and how to strengthen them), the drivers of chronic disease (and how to avoid them), and exactly how to safeguard your future health.

You don't need a PhD to understand health. Making Sense of Health - the book that had to be written - gives you all the tools you need to start living a healthier, more vibrant life today. Because the best person to safeguard your future health is you!

Dr Tim O'Dowd is an author, researcher, and retired obstetrician, gynaecologist, and fertility and IVF specialist, as well as a husband, father, and grandfather. He also holds a Master of Palliative Care. In 2021, he published his first book, Our Children, Our Legacy: Passing on the Gift of Good Health. After a medical scare prompted him to re-examine his own health, Tim's research led him to discover that much of what he thought he knew about maintaining and safeguarding health was wrong. With the science of health constantly changing, his latest mission is to help people understand the drivers of chronic disease and the pillars of good health from an evidence-based perspective. He believes that the best person to safeguard your future health is you.
